Grief Support

Grief following suicide is a complex and overwhelming experience. A suicide death leaves many unanswered questions. Every person grieves in his/her own way. At different times, people may feel: Sadness, Denial, Relief, Guilt, Fatigue, Loss, Anger, Shame, Fear, Disconnected from reality

The stigma surrounding suicide can isolate families. Often, family members can become isolated from each other as they each struggle to grieve in their own way. There are no time limits to grief. Individuals can find a community of support at one of our grief support groups. Groups through the Alliance are free of charge and drop-ins are welcome.

Support Groups

The You’re Not Alone Grief Support Group meets the 1st Thursday of every month at 6:30 PM at Pathways Hospice located at 305 Carpenter Road in Fort Collins. This is a collaborative group with the Alliance for Suicide Prevention and 3Hopeful Hearts.

You’re Not Alone provides a safe space for families who have experienced the death of a child by suicide. You’re Not Alone is a free community group and drop-ins are welcome.

We Understand, We Accept, We Support… We cannot take away your pain, but we can share it in an atmosphere of love and acceptance.

Heartbeat Support Group

This monthly grief support group is for individuals who are grieving the loss of a loved one to suicide. Heartbeat does not replace therapy. The healing achieved within this group is the result of understanding, encouragement and caring. Privacy and confidentiality are respected. This group is offered free of charge and drop-ins are welcome.

The Heartbeat Grief Support Group meets the 3rd Wednesday of every month from 6:30-8:30 at Pathways Hospice, 305 Carpenter Road in Fort Collins. Each grief support group is free of charge and drop-ins are welcome.

The grief support groups have an additional Facebook support group that connects individuals with support throughout the month.
